A couple of weeks ago Adlee’s little daycare/preschool that she goes to on Tuesday and Thursday went to the pumpkin patch. Since I can be a Mom and not a teacher this year I got to go!!

This last weekend we had our fall retreat with the youth group. Adlee and Jacee both came! This progression of pics is funny. Adlee did not want to slide, but Daddy wanted her to. She was not happy with him!

On Tuesday night, with the rest of OKC, we went to Storybook forest with Honey and Grandad and our cousins! We had to sit in the car of almost an hour before we even got there!

For the sake of my Grandma’s and my scrapbooks that I don’t have purchased yet, I have to start posting again!

We have had a BUSY summer! Jerred went to his 2 normal camps, plus a week in Del Rio, TX for the mission trip. We took a trip to TX with my family. All of this with a newborn and a toddler! It was fun and of course flew by. I am not teaching this year, VERY thankful to be able to stay home. Adlee still goes to Miss Amie’s house, but only on Tuesday/Thursday. This was for both of us. She is very social and needs that outlet! Okay, onto pics…

Adlee is a fish! She took swim lessons with her best friend, RyaLyn and loved it so much.

She has no fear when it comes to the water. I wish there was a little bit, but there is none. She went on this slide every day with her teacher, Shelby. She also went off a diving board at a youth party, but no pictures of that.

Jacee didn’t participate in much this summer, but she still had fun!

She is now 3 months!

She started really laughing yesterday, and I caught it on my phone! I will have to post that later, or in a month. This is Adlee’s french braid, we started that recently and she loves it!

So back a month ago I had my baby girl. Jacee Ann came on May 19, weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. I am now overwhelmed with blogging, which is why I haven’t kept up. I am just thinking if I am going to get back in this for scrapbooking purposes, I better start soon!!

To start at the beginning, a week before Jacee came I was put on bed rest. My blood pressure had started getting really high so we got a little worried. On Monday before she came the dr wanted me to go to the hospital to monitor Jacee and my pressure. Jacee was doing great, but the blood pressure was not, so she decided to induce at 38 weeks, on May 19! Here is my bed rest companion until Jacee came. Sweet Sadie is so neglected.

My labor was super fast and easy this time. I started my meds at 6:30 and had Jacee 4 hours later. I got my epidural really early on, so never really had a ton of pain. If this pregnancy had been a little easier I would have 5 more babies…well, maybe not.

Adlee got to come in that afternoon to meet her baby sister. We had Jacee in the nursery and talked to Adlee before we brought Jace in. She was very excited to meet her sister and give her the bunny she had made her!

Since this first kiss, there have been many many more.

Adlee was beyond thrilled that Jacee had made her a kitty. She said “Oh thank you, Jacee” about 100 times!

Big Sister Day!

In about 2 months my daughter’s life will drastically change. Now, I know this is going to be good in the long run, but I feel that in the beginning Adlee’s world will completely be rocked. So today we had a fun day just spending time and doing fun things with her. We told her it was all about her being a big girl and being a big sister. All 3 of us had a great day!

It started at build-a-bear. Adlee got to pick out and make her baby sister a bear…er, bunny!

She did great realizing it was for baby sister and not her, and then we got home and she wanted to nap with it. We let her. She doesn’t know it, but her little sister made her a cat, they can exchange at the hospital when they meet!! Adlee got a cat because this entire pregnancy I have had a baby in my tummy and Adlee has had a kitty. Really we have no idea where that came from, but she has even told my doctor about it!!

Our next stop was Chuck E. Cheese. Adlee had never been so I thought it would be a fun trip. Adlee had fun in the end, but was very overwhelmed for a while.

We then went home for a nap, although we didn’t quite make it. Big sisters need naps too!

After naps we went to get snowcones, then to the playground. To be honest we could have skipped all of the stuff that cost too much and played at the playground ALL day. She loves playing!!

Jerred did manage to steal the camera and get one picture of Adlee and me, however that will not be a published picture. I will surely use it during teenage years to show both girls a) what I went through for them and b) a little visual during “the talk.”

The other night Jerred was giving Adlee a bath, that his is daddy duty! He yelled at me from the bathroom and said "I think Adlee is saying the pledge of allegiance!" I went in there and sure enough, she knows the whole thing. She says is at Amie's house every morning and it has stuck. Smarty-pants.

This last weekend we went to Texas for my cousins wedding. Adlee tore up the dance floor at the reception. Before anyone had even started dancing Adlee warmed up the floor.

Jerred couldn’t make the wedding so Uncle Markie filled in and let Adlee dance with him and his girls.

Beyonce’s song, All the single Ladies, came on which is Adlee’s favorite. I went out there to sing and dance with her and she told me to sit back down. Needless to say I did not leave my seat again that night.

A slow song came on, so Adlee just decided to take a minute and have a special dance with Minnie.

Since then she has told me several times how much she loves to dance. You know those Church of Christ Minister Kids…they are t.r.o.u.b.l.e.

I have an amazing Dad! Every Friday my Dad goes to the Coffee Creek Riding stables to help kids with special needs ride horses. You can check out more about the stables here. That is right, my Dad is the greatest. This is of course just one of those things about my Dad that I love!!

Last Friday, Adlee and I had off school so my Dad jumped at the chance to get Adlee at the center to hang with the horses. She was a little apprehensive at first.

She got to brush and pet several horses.

This one gave kisses(licked) just like Sadie!

And then we decided to push it by putting her on a horse!

And it was over!

She cried until we left. We got in the car and then she cried because she wanted to go back to the horses and Grandad. I asked her if she would go back and play with the horses to which she said yes. She was very specific though, she likes to pet the horses, not ride them!

I will interupt my normal Adlee posting for a little update from first grade. These are some poems that were read today in my class. They were allowed to write to anyone they wanted, Mom, Dad, other family, or friends.

Dear Sally I hope you are good. I like your hair, and your clothes. Your hair smells like roses and violets. I like you as strong as my heart.

For the reputation of first graders in my class the names have been deleted. These were written by 2 boys to 2 different girls in my room. I must admit I had a hard time keeping a straight face when these were read in class today.

Snow much fun!!

We have had about 12 inches of snow this week, and I think added to that this morning. I don’t know for sure, I cannot watch the network news anymore. Hopefully I will get over that soon. I just don’t want to feel like I see the news anchors more than my family.

Adlee has been a little sick, but you wouldn’t really know it. She has bronchitis and got on meds yesterday. She is already sleeping better. She has REALLY wanted to play in the snow, but I knew it wouldn’t be good for her with her sickies. But yesterday after we had to get dressed to go to the doctor we went ahead and played for a few minutes. She LOVES the snow.

I also, for scrapbook purposes, wanted to mention some things I have heard from her all week.

“I have a question.” Proceeded with nothing, because she doesn’t know what she is saying.

“I have an idea!” Again followed by nothing.

“Guess what?!?!” Followed by silence.

Talking about Sadie, “Is that MY dog?!?!”

“Will you come color with me?” Mostly to Jerred. She has also played with her Mickey and Minnie dolls all week. Today Mickey had to sit in time out because he kicked Minnie. She only knows that puts you in time out from experience.

Adlee with her redneck Daddy…HA! His hunting clothes are his warmest! I forgot she has also realized in the last month or so that Mommy and Daddy are also known as Jerred and Brook. So she has been calling us those names from time to time this week. Not a fan of this, although it is funny!

We have had a fun time being home this week! Love our family time, I know Adlee has loved having both of us all day!

Adlee has been very into playing babies lately. I think this baby sister is coming at the perfect time! She has named the babies and there names haven’t changed yet, I was a bit surprised by this!

Four Days in my P.J.’s

So we have had quite the week! I guess I would have to back up to last Friday to begin. We were leaving at 1:00 for our yearly youth trip to Winterfest. This is a trip that Adlee and I have gone on in the past, but we take my car. We had 2 high school girls in the car with us and were a little past Norman when Adlee decided to get sick. We immediately walkie talkied the vans and told them we were making an impromptu stop. I knew she hadn’t really felt 100% but had no idea that was coming, poor Rae and Erin who were with us. They are such champs!! I decided it would be best for Adlee and me to turn around and come home…alone. Jerred of course had to go with the teens. That night Adlee seemed fine, she took a long nap and woke up happy. We ended up having a fun weekend with no sickies! She was still sad there was no winterfest!

Fast forward to Monday morning (Jerred got home on Sunday night), I woke up ready for us to have MLK day off and to have a fun family day. Jerred and I both got sick. TERRIBLY sick!! Jerred had the flu and I ended up in the hospital with a stomach bug. Being pregnant I was struggling to keep hydrated. I had 2 bags of fluid and 2 rounds of meds…ICK! Then with Jerred having the flu we could not come home because neither Adlee or I had it! So we had to stay at my parents house until yesterday (Wed.). So far Jerred has been the only one infected. My parents, Adlee and I have all been on tamiflu since Tuesday to help protect us!

Poor Jerred still has a terrible cough, but hopefully that will get better tomorrow! Today we got to stay in our pj’s because we had a snow/ice day! Since we all have been cooped up inside since Monday we had to get a little creative today with our activities!

He has had to take her to bed last night and tonight, she will NOT let Mommy do it. If I try she throws a fit, I guess his night night praying is better than mine!

I think Adlee and I are both ready to go to school tomorrow and get back to some normalcy! It doesn’t hurt that it’s a Friday and then we will be done for the week, ha!

We had 3 fabulous Christmas celebrations..well, I guess 4 including our little family’s! I, however, have become the world’s WORST about taking pictures. I have GOT to get better! Luckily for my family’s 2 Christmas’s I have Teresa and Brooke who I can steal pics from.

Christmas in Texas!

On the day that we left for New Braunfels we had an ultrasound at 8 AM. It was the day we found out we are having another GIRL!! We didn’t tell anyone on my side until we got down there, and then we let Adlee tell!! It was really fun that everybody was together for it. It made it more special for me.

But, because of this I forgot my good camera. We had rushed around that morning and got everything but the camera. I had my little one and I was also able to get pics from other people.

We were able to open presents at Roger and Amy’s house. Super fun because they have toys for everyone! It was also a beautiful day outside, so we spent a lot of time there!

We bribed her with a cookie, and really talked him up. She said she was ready, but it just wasn’t in her. She gave him a high five and was okay…until she sat in his lap.

So we sat with her and she tried to not cry. She even told Santa thank you through her tears when we were finished. That night when I was getting her ready for bed I asked her about her Santa visit and she said, “I cwied Momma.”

She actually loved getting dressed up and pretending to be Abby Cadabby, she did much better than I thought she would.

Now onto my big girl, not sure I am ready for this…

This is how she looked for her big day! It was a Wednesday so we all worked and Adlee went to preschool. Mrs. Amie bought her cupcakes so her and her little friends got to celebrate and they sang to her. I got pictures sent to my phone that day…I am SO thankful for how Amie takes care of her!!

We had a family party for her the following week when everyone could come. She would DEFINATELY not stand still to have her picture taken that night!

She had a very fun birthday!!

Not to upstage Adlee’s big birthday or anything, but she is now going to be a big sister!!! This is why the lack of blogging, the pure exhaustion has taken over my body and these fingers just don’t quite type like they use to. Okay, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration. Baby England 2 due June 2, predicted in May!!!

In the last month I have started back to school teaching Kinder again, sent Adlee to her first daycare, let Jerred add to his list of jobs (Del City Football chaplain), switched to first grade in a day, turned 30, and celebrated Jerred turning 30 too. This is why the lack of blogging. So sorry, I will work on it!

My job is going well. First grade is different but I am getting the hang of it. Adlee LOVES her school. She is having a blast and also learning a ton. It is also really nice for me because Amy, the lady who keeps her, comes and picks her up at my school in the morning and brings her back to me after the day is over. Adlee loves coming to my school and acting as if she owns the place. Jerred is liking his extra job too. He has been going to almost all the practices and will go to all the games and stand on the sidelines. I think he will make some really great bonds with the boys and hopefully have an impact on many of them!! So we are both really excited about the possibilities there! And the whole 30 thing we don’t need to talk about.

Now you can all stop reading because I am going to scrapbook a little bit here. You can just scroll through pics!! First, Adlee has figured out how to open EVERYTHING! Her favorite things are my makeup.

She is counting to 10. Singing everything she hears, favorites being Lord’s Army, Wheels on the Bus, Boots, Jesus Loves Me, and ABC’s. She pretty much says whatever she wants. The other night we walked in the house and she said “Oh my goodness!” plain as day!!

She loves playing outside!

She has finally started saying “Wuv you” and loves giving hugs and kisses!

When we get in the car after school she talks the whole 15 minutes home. Tells me about the kids at school, calling them by name, and telling me things they played with. I don’t catch all of it, but I’d say about 75% I understand :)

Favorite shows are Yo Gabba, Jack’s Big Music Show, Elmo, and Dora. She put her babies in her chair to watch tv with her.

She will do anything for a laugh, and when we start laughing she just does it more!! (Such a little Jerred!) This is something the kids at church have her do all the time…crazy face!

She is still the happiest girl, and LOVES being around people. We are so thankful our school year has started out so wonderfully!!

Okay, I will admit it Adlee has a lisp. But for now I am just looking at it as cute, but the teacher in me is ready to work on it when she is talking more. But that is not what this post is about. This is all about Adlee’s best friend…Gaythie. Known to all of us as Grace or Gracie.

Gracie is a 5th grader at our church, so she is not quite in our youth group yet. However, her older sisters are in the group, so she ends up hanging out with us a lot. Adlee really loves her oldest sister, Erin. But Erin has sadly been replaced. This is Adlee and Erin right after camp this year.

This weekend we were on a trip with our older kids and Adlee cried one night because Ewin (Erin) was there and she wouldn’t stop saying “I need Gaythie.” So sad. Luckily on Sunday night they were reunited.

BFF!!

On a side note, Adlee has learned what to do when we pray. She will always grap the hands of the people around her and “close” her eyes. This is the face she makes EVERY time we pray. Then she finishes with a very loud AMEN!!

Adlee is obsessed with accessories. You name it she wears it at some point or another: bracelets, necklaces, purses, hair bows, you get it. Here is our new one.

She now asks for her “gasses” all the time.

She might have thrown a big enough fit to wear them into church, and we might have been asked twice if they were prescription glasses.

I am sorry for the lack of blogging. Recently I have been told by 3 readers that the blog was idle. So this is for you 3 :) Now I know of 5 readers total!!

If you haven’t seen on facebook this has been a tough month for my family. I am not quite ready to blog about things just yet, but check my fb if you don’t know what I am talking about. Prayers are appreciated!

So onto the Adlee update! Since our first camp we have had 2 more camps and a vacation in Dallas with my family. Tonight I will share our exciting 4th of July. We just had a family day, we even cleaned out the garage. So while we did that we let Adlee go swimming!

Okay, okay it really wasn’t swimming weather. But this girl LOVES her some water! She finds a puddle and just goes to town. This day she played in the rain and realized the fun a gutter can bring.

This was at least 30 minutes of pure joy while we cleaned up in the garage.

I guess we took pictures AND cleaned!

We then took a bath got on our PJ’s and headed to the Edmond firework show. Could NOT figure out how to get the camera to work, but Adlee loved the fireworks. She was in complete awe.

Littlest Camper/Staffer

We have just returned back from our week out at camp. Adlee went and we all seemed to survive. This week would have been impossible had my Mom AKA camp nurse had not joined in on the fun. Don’t worry, we didn’t officially rough it, we stayed in a trailer, complete with A/C!!!

I will be going through some of the weeks happenings on the blog slowly. This really means I am just too lazy to do it now! So stay tuned!

Anyway, today is mother’s day so I need to give a shout out to the important ladies in our life. Let me start by saying I regrettably do not have a recent picture of Adlee with her Mimi (Jerred’s Mom), although on Thursday I will fix this!! She is still an important lady in our lives so she deserves to be a part of this post, and I will put her picture up next weekend :) We love Mimi, after all she did raise my best friend, and I might add she did a great job! Thank you Mimi for always helping us out when we need it and doing so much for us!!

I have two BEAUTIFUL Grandma’s!! If I look this good when I am a great Grandma I will be happy!! This is my MeeMaw. MeeMaw is my seamstress and has taught me some things, nothing to be proud of yet, I am no good…but I plan on working with her more this summer! I already told her I will be having a slumber party without Adlee!!

This is Grandmommie, she has taught me everything I know about make-up!! Just look at that skin. I am telling you, two gorgeous Grandma’s! We love visiting Grandmommie in Texas.

And of course, I couldn’t ignore Honey!! To say Adlee loves her Honey would be an understatement. When I take her over there I can’t leave fast enough for Adlee, she continually tells me bye. But I would not have it any other way. My Mom is not only my Mom, but my best friend!!

When I tell people Adlee still isn’t walking I hear a lot about how kids who walk late are smart. If there is anything to this Adlee will be in good shape when it comes to school. However, I won’t be hearing that anymore because I have a walker. She is a little over 17 months and she is on the move. All weekend she has been working on it, but I would say as of today it is official! I am a little afraid she will be running tomorrow and I will never catch her!!! What a mess!

This last weekend we had to take a surprise trip to Texas. Saw some old friends and hung out with family! Of course the bluebonnets are beautiful right now and being from Texas I couldn’t pass up the cheesy tradition!

And his job! Mark has a really great job at Chesapeake and gets some nice perks with that great job. One of these is occasional tickets to Thunder basketball games. Tonight was one of those games. And it just so happens that they were playing the spurs…my favorite team. My nice brother took James, Lydia and me! I was very torn about who to cheer for, because I would always cheer for the thunder. It was a great game and the spurs did end up winning, I had decided I would be happy either way.

Oh wait, did I fail to mention how great the seats were?!?! We were so close. Best quote of the night was when Lydia (5 years old) saw the scantily clad cheerleaders and said “I think they are cold.” She also said they had sparkly belts on their underwear, and she bets they don’t wear those outfits to church! She’s funny!!

We constantly had to find “Rumble,” I think deep down Lydia was concerned he was going to get close.

James did more ear covering than Lydia did, but it did get very loud at the end!

15 1/2 months and still not walking?!?!

Yes friends. We have a lazy girl on our hands!! This girl is a mess. She talks/sings nonstop, including the occasional sentence, but will not walk to save her life. Although, this past week she has been more interested than ever. I feel it coming!!

Here are a couple of things that Adlee loves these days.

So it has been too long. Just hard to find the time to blog these days, especially when Adlee insists on being on the computer when I am. She loves pushing the buttons, turning off wifi, making all caps and basically screwing up whatever she can. Jerred doesn’t usually read the blog, but apparently did the other day and vocalized his disapproval. I told him he was welcome to blog, but he told me he didn’t know how. Seeing as this is the same guy who figured out how to put a brand new screen on a laptop in about an hour I think he could figure out this blogging thing. But such is life.

I am going to have to jump back to Christmas to catch up. Yes, that is right we DID celebrate Christmas!! The first party we had was with our youth group. The first pic is of Adlee with her boyfriend Garrett. The faces are because some just said “Is Garrett your boyfriend?” To which Adlee immediately replied “Yep!” If she detects a question tone in your voice this is always her reply, but the kids were not expecting it.

Our first Christmas was with my side, minus the New Braunfels crew. Not a ton of pics because Adlee fell asleep, she really was not into the Christmas thing, I think everyone was a little too excited and it freaked her out.

She was wiped out! Next came our Christmas Eve blizzard. My family from New Braunfels had come up the day before and were staying at my parents and Mark’s house. So it was kinda sad that we didn’t get to see them right away. But I did enjoy it being just the 3 of us that day. We had a fun little family day!

That night we got to open one present. Adlee had one for us from Sonshine school and Jerred INSISTED that we save it for Christmas. It was wrapped and everything so it stayed under the tree! We were very excited with her craft. And yes I took this picture, Adlee knows the orange light that comes on the camera means to smile…hilarious!

On Christmas morning we each had our stockings filled by Santa! Here is Adlee with some of her prices!

That afternoon Mark came and saved us with his 4 wheel drive. We were all able to go to his house for Christmas day. What fun!!

Then we moved on to Weatherford for the England Christmas! This was the only Christmas that Adlee acted interested in. She did a little bit of present opening here.

With 2 weeks on break we would all think that I could get on top of this blogging thing. Well, I am having too much fun playing in the floor with Adlee to worry about the computer. At the beginning of December we finally had Adlee’s birthday party. Here are the pics, pretty self explanatory, I pretty much made everything about the party except the shirt.

Sorry, things are crazy!! School is busy, church is busy, and well life is busy. I am hoping to get caught up over the break, but let’s all just be honest with ourselves.

For Thanksgiving Jerred and I separated, he went hunting and I went to New Braunfels with my parents and MeeMaw. So what do you do with a 12 month old during a 8 1/2 hour drive?!?!

Keep ‘em quiet with sugar. This was a bit week for Adlee, she officially learned how to crawl (with cousin Abbie)

We also enjoyed seeing my cousin Andie’s twin baby girls Allie and Addie, but I didn’t get pictures of them, so we will have to do that during Christmas. We are lucky enough to have all of them coming to OK this year!! And that about covers Thanksgiving (at least in pictures).

That’s right, this week has been nothing like I had planned it to be. That’s okay though we are a flexible family. Adlee turned one on Tuesday and at about 3 am she awoke to celebrate…or to cry for 4 hours straight. I really had no idea what was wrong until we went to the doctor at 3:00 that afternoon after she had begun to run a fever. Anyway, she didn’t get to go to school on her birthday and I was definitely more bummed about that than her.

However that night Jerred and I decided we could go ahead and do a little family celebration because she was feeling a little better. Sorry about her pictures, you can tell the poor thing did NOT feel good. Here she is in her big girl seat, right after the doctor…man I feel like a horrible Mom posting this picture.

Jerred stopped and bought her a little cake on the way home from work. She liked the taste, but really didn’t like it enough to get her hands dirty. If I fed her she would eat it, but that’s about it.

Jerred and I gave her a couple of little gifts, since we are going to have a party after Thanksgiving with family and friends she didn’t get much on the actual day.

Her first cell phone…she loves talking on the phone.

And of course she needed a laptop!

And since she’s now 1 she no longer wants to get read to. She prefers to read her own bedtime story.

This is basically what I have been doing all day. I thought instead of just letting these things weigh heavy on my heart I would pass them along, I think this will help me. There is a 7 month old baby girl at my church who has now been in the hospital for 2 weeks. She has 2 older sisters that are in our youth group, a senior and a 7th grader. So this has been consuming our thoughts lately. Little RyaLyn had croup to begin with and because of it her throat closed up. She had a ventilator for the first week and then ended up with a tracheotomy(which she will keep temporarily). She now has an infection, high fever, and they are having a hard time with her veins and iv’s. Please pray with us for RyaLyn’s speedy recovery. Her family has had a really rough time this whole year and they need her better!!

The second thing that has consumed my thoughts all day has been about a lady from school. I can’t say anything about how I know her(don’t want to give any info out at this point), but her husband left last night. They have 2 young children and they don’t know yet. I just really had a hard time swallowing this one today. I just don’t understand these things and it really sucks for them!

Anyway, with all the prayers going up for these things I couldn’t help but be thankful for my blessings. I know that sounds completely selfish but it is just hard to see these things around me and not be completely thankful for Adlee’s health and for my hubbo. When you are reading this please pray on behalf of these people, but also thank God for all that He has given you.

Cousins Day

Last Saturday we invited Adlee’s cousins to come over and carve pumpkins. We all had a really good time!

None of them wanted to touch the “yucky” stuff.

Evelyn refused to even try!!

James had the brilliant idea to use a spoon to get the stuff out, so we wouldn’t have to touch it!

Adlee was not liking that she wasn’t a part of the fun.

Mark stayed for the A&M game while Teresa ran some errands, so he got to hang out with Adlee after this point!

We let James draw what he wanted cut out on one pumpkin and Lydia got to do the other one. Jerred carved the boy one and I carved the girl one.

Adlee has her first crush. He is in our youth group and is in the 8th grade, she likes the older boys, much older boys. Adlee has been eyeing him for about the past 2 weeks. She will see him from across the room and just giggle and smile, then she will get shy and put her head down, then look back up at him to make sure he's looking. Well, tonight she was flirting and his dad told him to put his hands out for her. Well, of course when he did Adlee about jumped into his arms. Little did I know he didn't know how to hold her, so he ended up just holding her like a baby, only really akwardly. Does it look like she minds?!?!

Yesterday Adlee watched a very important game with her Daddy. But as always we play football on X-box first!!

10 Months Old

I can NOT believe that Adlee will be a 1 year old in 2 months!!! This time has flown by and I don’t even know how I feel about it yet. She is such a big girl! Sorry to say though there hasn’t been much celebrating happening here. Poor Adlee woke up on Tuesday morning not feeling so well. She and I both have been having bad allergies so I just figured that is what it was. I went ahead and took her to my Mom’s house. I called her when I got to school to see if she was any better and she said she needed to call the doctor because Adlee was very fussy (I could hear her crying in the background). By the time they got to the doctor Adlee had been running a fever for a while. Turns out my sweet little one has H1N1. Yes that’s right folks, the nasty swine flu! It’s kind of running crazy around these parts. I had several kids in my class with it about 2 weeks ago, and there have been others at Adlee’s preschool this week (although thankfully not in her class). Anyway, it really has not been as bad as the hype. She has definitely not felt her chipper self, but after that first day she has been okay. She hasn’t run any fever today and has played most of the day with no fussing so I would say we have beat it!!! Now if Jerred or I don’t get it we will really have beat it :)

Not a flattering picture of me, but how sad is this?!?! This was yesterday morning…we did LOTS of snuggling this week, which I did not argue with her about.

Now back to the whole 10 month thing. She is still the happiest baby ever (well, without the flu), and she talks and laughs all the time. She just cracks me up!!

She has figured out how to do the peek a boo thing all by herself. And the greatest part is, she laughs more under the towel than she does when she puts it down. Her whole body shakes with excitement!

This week if she was crying and nothing I could do helped all I had to do was let Sadie in, and she could do the trick!

Jerred and I took Adlee to the park this afternoon to have a little photoshoot. She has been in the best mood all weekend, I suppose she is always in a good mood, it just seems like she gets happier and happier every day!! She is 9 1/2 months now and time is flying by. She cracks us up, in fact I think she tries to crack us up. She has all kinds of “tricks” that she does now. She will dance, clap, show muscles and click her tongue to make noises. Oh, she also fake coughs on a regular basis. She starts school tomorrow at Memorial Road Sonshine school and I am so excited for her. I think she is absolutely going to love it.

Adlee has a new favorite stuffed animal! She received this said animal from an elderly lady from church. About a month ago right after church was over a man(probably 60’s) came over to me and handed me a nice blue bear and told me his mother wanted my baby to have it(Adlee had made her exit in the middle of church and was in the nursery). I had seen his mother, the elderly woman, with this bear during church so I went over to thank her for it. She informed me that she had just won the bear the night before playing bingo and she already had way to many of the stuffed animal prizes. In fact, her bed was covered in them already so she just likes to give away her winnings these days!

Yesterday was a special day. I finally got my hair cut off for locks of love. I feel like I have been growing it out for so long!!

While this blog is supposed to document Adlee’s milestones I felt this one counted. If it weren’t for her, I would have never made it 10 inches!!! Friends, I have very thick hair. Not the kind of thick hair that people might say, “oh, your hair is so thick and pretty!” It is the kind of thick that people say “Oh. My. Word. Your hair is SO THICK!!!” In fact 1 of my hair stylists cursed when she first started cutting it! Here is where Adlee comes in, after I had her I lost SO much hair and I think it has helped the weight so much!!

It was a big change, but I LOVE it!!! Adlee doesn’t mind either!!

We just got back from our Junior/Senior Mystery Trip yesterday. This was the first trip that Adlee and I went on where we actually rode on the van. Since it was a smaller group we stayed in a little house on the lake in Fort Gibson.

It was really fun! On Friday we rented a boat and went tubing, and it was Adlee’s first boat ride. She was SO excited!

Of course she had to wear a life jacket. She wore it like a champ!!

I am going to try and catch up on this so just stay with me here.

On July 4th Adlee and I headed to New Braunfels for a week while Jerred went on mission trip. We did not dare go on a 8 hour trip (I guess 7 and a half hours if Mark is driving) without help, so Adlee and I rode with my mom. Mark and his family tagged along too. Actually it was all Teresa’s plan, we crashed their vacation. Anyway, what happens when Mark’s kids are in one car and Honey and Adlee are in the other?!?!

I can’t complain, they were all good! For the 4th we went to my cousins house there and watched the city’s fireworks from his house! Adlee enjoyed her first firework show, but was VERY tired!! Please ignore me I had been in the car all day with 4 kids.

Here is Lydia with my cousin’s daughter Abbie. They love each other tons and are definitely trouble!! Here they are the next morning in church. I am pretty sure that right after this picture they got in trouble.

Yes, they are dressed alike. I made the 4 cousins dresses to wear to church together!! The girls wore them well and made people think I did better than I did! The 1st cousin pic:

Now is when the vacationing started. However, all Adlee and me did was swim and until I get time to crop out my whiteness you will not see those pictures. One day while the others went to seaworld in 110 heat, we stayed home and

slept. Love this picture more than words can express!! I love both of my Grandma’s so much and it is special that Adlee gets to love them as much as me!!! Sorry Grandmommie, I am sure I will get in trouble for having this picture on here, but hey at least you have on lipstick!!

After New Braunfels, Adlee and I headed off by ourselves to meet up with the youth group. We got to spend time with them at the mall and go to a baseball game. Sparky, Sarah and Riley met us up there and we had so much fun with them!!

That night Adlee got an up close firework show!! She was again exhausted and not sure how to feel at first, but she ended up watching it all without making a noise!!

And that is our trips in pictures!! I never showed you all one of Jerred’s fabulous father’s day presents. Check his shirt!!

It says “World’s Best Dad” and has their picture on it. Adlee gets so fascinated with it when he wears it. It is pretty funny!

And I am sure you have all thought at this point, “Hey Brook, didn’t Adlee just turn 8 months??? Aren’t you going to post about that???'”

Well, you betcha!!! She was 8 months 2 days ago. We are still rolling as a mode of transportation, she talks ALL time, she points at books when you read it, she tries really hard to wave, she kind of sings when you do, she laughs a LOT, and she is still the best baby ever!!! Oh and…

look real close!! There is a tooth on top, oh and 2 on the bottom!! I cannot explain how much fun the last 8 months have been with this girl. She has such personality and we LOVE her!!! Don’t you just want to pinch and kiss those cheeks!

Which is why at 7 months Adlee has already had her first haircut. She was already getting a lovely mullet(aka bi-level). I felt just how these parents did, that the only way I could let her have one is for Jerred and me to rock one also. Neither of us are at a point in our life to do this so we had "the cut."

As you can see Adlee did great! She loves when I brush her hair, so I guess this was kind of the same. She kept wanting to look at the girl doing it, but she was easily distracted. When we got home Jerred so kindly proclaimed, "she looks like a boy*." So I guess that means there will now always be a bow in her hair!! I have had many people tell me that when you cut the baby hair it will grow in thicker so that is what I am going for.

*Jerred didn't mean it, he just said this to get to me. He thinks she is the prettiest girl in the whole world.

Camp and Daddy's Day

Last week we had camp with our high schoolers. Luckily it is at OC so we get to sleep in our own beds and come home for naps :)
First lunch in the OC caf...I still just eat the cereal.

Adlee got to sit with Erin, one of our girls, and lucky for Adlee Erin shared her jello!! This was a BIG hit.

Here is some news...Adlee has a tooth!! She worked on it all week and the bottom front one broke through on Saturday. I am pretty sure the other front bottom one will be up any day now. This is the face I saw all last week when her gums were hurting.

Father's Day has come and gone without me posting and that is sad. Jerred is such an amazing Daddy, Adlee and I are very lucky!

All Adlee has to do is look at him with those big brown eyes and she gets exactly what she wants!!

We have been gone for our first week of camp this summer and let me just say it was an adventure. An adventure that I would like to never have again!! But first, I will give you good stuff. Adlee got LOTS of attention and really loved it!

I call this years session "the year of the plagues." It all started great, I took Adlee and she was doing SO awesome!! Adlee and I stayed in a little camper and as I said she was doing so well, we are proud! Jerred and the other 2 directors stay in the directors cabin and that is where Adlee and I spent time during the day. Well, that is where the first plague starts. This year there were these yucky little centipede things that were coming in and there were tons of them!!

This picture is not from camp, but it is what we dealt with. I wouldn't even walk on the floor barefoot for fear of stepping on one of these beauties. They were on the walls and ceiling at one point. GROSS!!
The second plague came in the form of a broken pool! After our Monday swim the pump broke and kept our kids from swimming on Tuesday. Not good for kids ranging from
3rd-8th grade who think they are going to swim that day. May not seem like a big deal for you, but let me tell you it was dramatic!!
The third plague was rain!! It rained a couple of nights, which did not affect the kids, but in a little camper the noise makes it hard to sleep!! It also rained ALL day on Wed. which kept the kids from swimming a 2nd day!! It also kept us all cooped up in a pavillion all day with smelly kids. Another GROSS!
And the last plague is the infamous one that landed us on the news, and was the worst one of all. It all started on Wed at about 5 pm when our first set of campers/staff were hit with a nasty stomach bug. We had to write down names of people that were sick and getting picked up and at 5 we had about 5 names already. I immediately called my parents to come get Adlee, I did not want her getting sick. Meanwhile I passed her off to one of our youth group boys, Jesse, and he took her to the trailor to keep her from the germs. I went and started clearing out a cabin on the girls side to put all of the sickies in. Let me just say here that my youth group girls "JC's" at camp were all rockstars!! I am not sure that I would have cleaned up vomit, and taken care of little girls quite like they did. I could not have been more proud of them, I love them and appreciate them SO MUCH!
Instead of going through all of the nasty details of how we had surround sound throw up and had to watch our step going through the grass I will just tell you it was not pretty.
By the time my parents got there around 7, I was already feeling it. So I went ahead and left with them and Adlee. I was sick at there house instead of out at camp. Out at camp there was another girl getting sick pretty much every 15 minutes and they were leaving all night. By 6 am they were calling all parents and camp was over pretty much 2 days early. All three directors(Jerred) got it and some of the kids/staff that weren't sick at camp got sick at home.

So, I thought being summer and no teaching I would blog all the time and be really great at this...not so much. Adlee is 6 months, and has been for a couple of weeks now. Better late than never, things we are up to these days:

She LOVES baby food! Funny, she likes the meats and veggies better than fruit.
We've tried the puffs and not a fan, they gag her still.
Turned into a bit of a Momma's girl since I've been home.

At the doctor for her 6 month appt. she weighed 16.5 and was 26 inches long, she is 50th percentile for both.! A couple days after she turned 6 months we tried to go to the park to take some sweet pictures. Well, I guess we forgot to ask Adlee if she wanted to go because apparently she did NOT. She was not cooperative and we decided we wouldn't try to have photo shoots until she can at least sit up better. But here are some of them anyway.

Sorry for the lack of posting Grandma's!! I am ALMOST done with school and that is taking up all of my time right now. I have 2 days left!!!!!!! WOOOOO!!!!

Okay, back to the post. Evelyn has turned 2 and we had a little family party for her.

All the cousins were loving Adlee so much that day, even James! In fact that week all of the kiddos were at my Mom's house and the girls were all playing and so James went over and started talking to Adlee (usually the girls are all around her so he doesn't pay much attention to her). Adlee smiled up at him and he said "SHE LIKES ME!!" He was SO excited about it...so sweet!

And of course they all had to give her kisses.

The end of April was my Best Friend, Katie's, birthday!! Jerred and I were supposed to keep Macy while her and Michael went out to dinner, but Jerred ended up getting the swine flu that week. My parents and I ended up hanging with Macy at their house instead. Macy and Adlee are exactly 8 months apart and are destined to be besties for life.

Macy thought it sounded fun to be best friends!

Okay, this is going to be all over the place. I am trying to catch up, so bear with me. We will begin with March Madness.We watched several games at church, so here she is with Rae, and yes she is actually watching basketball.
Then a couple of weeks ago, Jerred had a retreat and Adlee and I did not want to miss, so we went out for one day. Here we are at Lariet Creek Camp.

We didn't think we could stay in cabins just yet and Jerred's parents live really close so we just spent the night there. We also went to church there for the first time! Here is Adlee with her Mimi and Pappy.
Next Q and U got married at my school, so of course Adlee got in the funThe Easter Bunny brought Adlee an excersaucer and she LOVES it!!
She has been rolling over like crazy.

Poor Adlee has now made 3 trips to New Braunfels in her short life, but it hasn't bothered her one bit. You would think 8 hours in a car there and back would not be so fun, but she has handled it like a trooper!! Here are some pics from our latest trip. Adlee and Grandmommie!

Grandmommie has a puppy named Betsey. Adlee and Betsey are only one week apart, Adlee really does love dogs.

My cousin is a Deputy Sheriff and he was all uniformed up one day so I had to get Adlee with him!

Andie, my cousin in the pic, is married to Brooke and they are pregnant with identical twin girls!! The girls names are Allison and Addison, but they are going to call them Allie and Addie. My other cousin Roger, has a daughter named Abbie! My aunt and my sister-in-law are both named Teresa. SOOOO, we have 2 Teresa's, 2 Brook's, an Abbie, Adlee, Addie and Allie!!! We put the fun in disfunctional!!! We are VERY excited about the girls coming and I can't wait to meet them!!

I feel SO old!! My brother, Mark, has 3 kiddos and the middle one turned 4 on Wednesday!! On Sunday afternoon we had a little family party for her. Here are some pics from the event!!

My sweet girl is 4 months old!! I am blown away by how fast our time has gone by so quickly. Adlee is such a sweet baby and I don't think we were prepared for such a perfect girl :) Take a look at some of her younger days:

I thought I would update you on what Adlee has been up to lately. Sorry friends who don't have sleeping babies, Adlee sleeps through the night and has since 2 months!! This is usually how.

She is a side sleeper just like her Mom. She has been eating rice cereal for over a week, and I think it is going well. She still doesn't get the whole bowl, but we are working toward it!

She really likes it, even though she doesn't look like it in the picture. She isn't rolling over yet, but getting really close. She is not a fan of tummy time, but one of these days I will leave her on her belly and she will be mad enough I am sure she will roll! She moves around so much when she is on her back, she will be off her blanket in 5 minutes. Here is the almost roll.

And her VERY favorite place is and always has been her swing. We have been out of town for spring break and we just got back. When I put her in the swing yesterday she got so excited to see her bee friends above her!! It was quite comical.

That was her talking to the bees. I couldn't get a great picture because the swing was in motion and I couldn't seem to time it right. Sometimes you just can't be smarter than the swing...oh well.

We really do have the sweetest baby, and we are truly blessed!!

Adlee attended her first Spring Sing on Thursday night. She had to support Gamma so I made her a new onesie. I am no seamstress (sorry MeeMaw and Grandmommie) so don't judge my work!

We went with Scott and Sonya, so Adlee sat with them most of the show. She actually slept on Sonya the entire first half and some of the second.

She did wake up for Gamma's show, they were Pippi Longstocking!! After the show I had to have her picture taken with some of the girls. She was upset at first, but then I explained who they were and she was fine. They had a great show and won again, way to go ladies!!!

Blast from the past and Electricity

Last Sunday we made a trip to Wichita Falls to visit the church where Jerred used to work. They had never met Adlee so we were super excited to show her off. We had a fun day, but only got 1 picture to show from it (I'm working on getting better!) This is Adlee with Whitney and Reagan.

On Tuesday morning as I was getting ready for school the power went out in our bedroom and bathroom. I, of course, went and did the breaker thing but nothing seemed to work, so Jerred stepped in and nothing worked for him either. I ended up going to school with wet hair because I ran out of time and left Jerred to deal with the house. He had a meeting that day so he had to leave it and fix it later. That night he worked on it and his dad even came over to help and still nothing. His dad left at about 9:30 but my stubborn husband couldn't give up. At about 10:30 he magically got it kicked back on. On Wednesday morning when I turned the light on in the bathroom it all went off again. He ended up fixing it that night before church!! Again my husband is stubborn and we never pay to have things fixed when we can EVENTUALLY fix it ourselves!

This story is not complete without telling you about one of Jerred's trips to home depot. He went and asked the electrical guy if he had a favorite stripper!!!!!!! After getting a really funny look Jerred clarified that he was talking a wire stripper, yikes.

Today is Adlee's 3 month birthday, but that is not what this post is about. I will be updating on that later, we had really cute pictures done yesterday at Penney's and I will get those on here once I get them.
On to this subject.

I was working in the house yesterday and I must confess, the only way I got things done was to turn Adlee's attention to something else. On Saturday I realized that Adlee is a fan of the TV. Don't get upset I have been showing her educational things only (does that make it sound a little better?). At noon she started watching sesame street and LOVED it!! I was putting clothes away and I walked back in the living room to find her dancing!! I do believe she is doing a fabulous job of keeping the beat. I don't know about you but I am feeling a little ghetto groove in her!! Just don't tell our elders you saw the youth ministers daughter dancing...

I told Adlee earlier that is was Resi's birthday and this was her reaction.
But then we got loaded up to go somewhere and she realized we were not headed to New Braunfels to see Resi on her birthday and this was the reaction I got.

We had a very emotional evening about the whole thing. Resi is very special to Adlee because they share a middle name! Happy Birthday from the OK crew Resi!!!

Baby Dedication

On Sunday morning our church had it's 3rd annual baby dedication Sunday. It is where we pray for those families who have new little one's to celebrate. I wish I had gotten some better pictures of Adlee's outfit, it was so stinkin' cute. I have already told Jerred we are going to bust it back out sometime this week to get a better picture in it!

Adlee will play with Honey and Sugar! I am very lucky to have my Mom(Honey) keep Adlee during the week. She watches her Monday-Thursday and since Jerred has Friday's off that is Daddy/Daughter Day. I never worry about her while I am at school because I know she is always well taken care of.

If you have known my family long enough you know that my mom has a dog named Sugar. Sugar has had to get used to having my Mom home all the time AND having a baby around all the time.

From what my Mom says Sugar doesn't leave Adlee's side much. They were fast friends!!

Adlee had her first superbowl on Sunday! It wasn't overly eventful because Adlee and I didn't even know who was playing. Of course she spent her first football party at the church. Here are some pictures to remember the occassion.

I know some of you have to be wondering how Sadie, the dog, feels about Adlee's arrival...well, we are not sure. Sadie has been so funny about things, she wants to be right next to her if we are, but if we walk away she gets scared of her or something. I have to tell you, I am perfectly okay with this. No school today and no church today for Dad!! We all got to stay home and stay warm all day. But that doesn't mean we can't dress Adlee up for pictures right?!?!
